About our firm

Our story

Tred Architecture + Design is a collaboration between husband-wife design team Megan Tremain and Lee Edwards. After meeting in architecture school at Miami University (OH), their sense of adventure and love of the outdoors brought them to the Pacific Northwest. While Tred officially launched in 2014, Megan and Lee have been designing custom homes together for well over a decade, starting with their own. This hands on experience makes them uniquely positioned to help lead their clients through the multi-faceted process of design and the rigors of construction.

Our Process

We start by focusing on you. Learning about your goals, how you live, and your unique project conditions helps ensure that we move in the right direction from the beginning.

We take a design-build mentality throughout the design process. We build a team of trusted contractors and engineers early to ensure our designs can be built efficiently, on-budget, and with your best interests in mind.

We advocate for you throughout construction. No job is truly complete until you turn the key. We are always available to you and your construction team to answer questions on-site.

Our Team

Megan Tremain, AIA

Principal + Owner

Megan's drive is helping others. After spending over a decade designing and managing large-scale commercial projects, she founded Tred with Lee to get back to her passion in architecture: developing a strong bond with her clients and helping them achieve their vision. She is the proud mother of two, and a newly minted cross country skier.

Lee Edwards

Principal

Lee is just as comfortable with a hammer and hardhat as he is with a roll of trace paper. Lee's field-work expertise helps us communicate with our preferred builders more effectively. Prior to founding Tred with Megan, Lee ran a successful solo practice, Lee Edwards Residential Design. Lee considers himself a trophy husband and can still throw a mean fastball that his kids can't hit.

Jeff Matarrese

Architect

Jeff's architectural background is in education and commercial projects. Besides being a licensed architect, he is constantly tinkering with our website, 3D modeling workflow, and project delivery systems. Jeff and his wife are the proud parents of a Golden Retriever named Onomatopoeia.
